Meme: Alphabet Soup

A. Attached or single? Very much attached, madly in love with, and happily married to my sexy, geeky, Latin rockstar of a gentleman.

B. Best friend? Hubs. He's the best friend a girl could ask for.

C. Cake or pie? Pie! Always pie. I prefer pumpkin and cherry. Apple can come too. Now, buttercream frosting, on the other hand...

D. Day of choice? I'm very fond of Saturdays & Sundays. They are both family days in our home.

E. Essential item? iPhone, lip balm, and facial moisturizer & spf

F. Favorite color? Pink, white, kelly green, and turquoise/teal/aqua; love all of 'em!

G. Gummy bears or worms? Bears, particularly Haribo. They top the list of my fav candies.

H. Hometown? It is a secret. I'll never tell.

I. Indulgence? Cheese! My gosh, I love it, especially sharp cheddar, colby, monterey jack, and provolone. Mmm... delish! Oh, and, sweet cream ice cream with peanut butter swirl.

J. January or July? Absolutely January. Winter is my favorite season next to autumn. July is too hot where we live.

K. Kids? Just one for now. Noah is 2 1/2 yrs old. We hope to have more. Maybe we will even begin ttc baby #2 sometime late next year. =)

L. Life isn’t complete without? God and the people you holdest nearest & dearest to your heart

M. Marriage date?
October 9th

N. Number of brothers & sisters? I have one of each, both are older. We are all 2 years apart.

O. Oranges or apples? I love both - but I especially love those little cutie mandarines.

P. Phobias? Spiders, wasps/bees, all other creepy-crawlies, snakes, and body odor. Can't stand any of those things. I find them all to be incredibly creepy.

Q. Quotes? I have several, actually:

"We must be the change we wish to see in the world." -Ghandi

"I would rather learn from one bird how to sing than to teach ten thousand stars how not to dance." -E.E. Cummings

"Fairy tales are more than true, not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be defeated." -G.K. Chesterton

"Love many things, for therein lies true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done is done well." -Vincent Van Gogh

"Life is a storm. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout, do your worst, for I will do mine!" -Edmond Dantes

R. Reasons to smile? Jesus woke me up this morning to a beautiful family and a crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful life. <3

S. Season of choice? Autumn & winter. I love everything about both, from the fashion to the pumpkins and holidays.

T. Tag seven peeps! How 'bout'cha do it if ya want to?

U. Unknown fact about me? I used to work in the music industry.

V. Vegetable? I love just about all vegetables with the exception of brussell sprouts. I just can't do those. I would say my favs are broccoli, green beans, yellow summer squash, and cucumbers.

X. X-ray or ultrasound? Ultrasound. Those are usually much more fun than x-rays.

Y. Your favorite food? Mexican! I love me some Mexican food, particularly enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, and chips with guacamole & good salsa. I also love cheese, Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom, chocolate covered strawberries & blueberries, mashed potatoes & gravy, chips & dip, and fresh green salads with homemade, smooth, cool, creamy ranch salad dressing.

Z. Zodiac sign? I don't believe in astrology at all, but I'll humor you and answer the question anyway. I am an aries.

12/12/12

When I began writing in this blog, I had very high hopes for it. I wanted it to be a place where I could write -and write often- about our little love story and life. Unfortunately, I haven't taken the time to do just that. With it already being December (and nearly Christmas!), I want to change that before the new year rolls around.

I started this blog before my son was born. He is now 2 years old and I am saddened by the fact that I didn't document more of what I should have. They never tell you babies grow this fast and things change so suddenly until you blink your eyes and your itty-bitty has magically turned into an independent boy that is all too set on discovering everything he can about the world. As it is our place to guide him on this journey, I want to continue to document that here. Or start documenting that journey here, considering I never really started.

So, here we are. At the beginning. Again. Promising to be an avid, faithful blogger of the memories and special moments of my life, the tucked away treasures of my heart, and all those breathtaking moments I want to look back and smile on and hold forever close to my heart. <3

Our Third Wedding Anniversary

Today my love and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. He surprised me with a beautiful perfume and hot pink roses when he came home from work. We spent the night at home, cooked dinner together, and watched our geeky TV shows while the baby ran around and played. Love him!

He makes me feel like a princess every day! No time with him will be long enough, but let's start with forever. ♥

Up, Up, and Away!

Up, up, and away!
Changes come, darlings.
Good changes.
It is time.
Life has dealt us an lot of hard cards to play off the past couple of years, and I'm looking forward to things looking up. Keeping my eyes on the skies. Cheer up buttercup, it'll all work out. :)

A Couple Drops & They All Start Coming Down

Ever knocked on the sky and had it fall on your head?

Tomorrow is another day, and I'm thirsty anyway, so bring on the rain.

Cookie Monster is Also a Cupcake Thief

It is 11 pm on Saturday night. Zach is upstairs working from home. I should be preparing Noah's activity & snack bag for church tomorrow morning so he will have something to keep him entertained while his daddy and I enjoy Sunday morning worship and Bible study. Instead, I have plopped myself on the couch in front of the TV intended to enjoy a late-night indulgence of chocolate milk & Swiss rolls. To my surprise, my cakes kept disappearing. I managed to catch a certain little sneak in action. Looks like he decided that mama's cupcake was much tastier than his oatmeal raisin cookie.

Coffee for Two ♥

I love the days when my husband is able to work from home, especially days like today when I am feeling a bit under the weather. I seem to be coming down with a cold, compliments of all the allergies this bipolar Texas weather has stirred up and the slobbery kisses my snotty-nosed BubbyBear gave me while he was getting over his cold last weekend.

Lots of fluids and soup are in order - and maybe a hot bowl of homemade chili, because that is how us Texans do it. Coffee is a must on days like today when I cannot warm up to save my soul. Healing thoughts are greatly appreciated, my loves. Please send them my way. <3

Stop by Pulling at the Apron Strings, my recipe blog I write with a friend at, to get my recipe for homemade sweetened condensed milk & homemade vanilla coffee creamer.
